Gladys W. McKee - Cumberland

Gladys W. McKee, 93, formerly of Cumberland, passed away Thursday, Oct. 16 at Briarcliffe Manor, Johnston. She was the wife of the late William S. McKee.

Born in Shreveport, La., she was the daughter of the late James C. and Thelma (Robertson) Williams. She resided in Cumberland for most of her life.

Mrs. McKee was employed as a Department Head, Home Economics and Science teacher for the Cumberland School Department for 33 years until her retirement. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, ETA Chapter, and a lifelong member of NEA.

She leaves her children, William H. McKee of Challis, Idaho, Patricia M. LaPointe of Cumberland, and Nancy M. Allen of West Warwick, R.I.; her siblings, Ella Stough, Gloria Hearn, Robert Williams and John Williams, all of Louisiana; two grandchildren, Michael Allen of Atkinson, N.H., and Lindsay Gardella of North Kingstown; four great-grandchildren, Maya Lane, Jude Allen, Brooke Gardella and Levi Allen; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Clyde Williams, Mary Ziegler, Margaret Grooms, John C. Williams Jr., Helen Norris, Carolyn Wheat and Lester Williams.

A celebration of her life will be held Monday, Oct. 20 at 10 A.M. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Prayer Service will be held at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 8 P.M.
