Regina A. Silkie - North Smithfield

Regina A. Silkie, 88, of North Smithfield, R.I., formerly of North Attleboro, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield.

She was the wife of the late James E. Silkie. Born May 27, 1926, in Woodhaven, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Philip and Helen (McKenna) Lee.

Regina was employed at Roosevelt Avenue Elementary School in North Attleboro for more than 20 years before her retirement at the age of 80. She loved reading, knitting, gardening and especially spending time with children.

Regina is survived by her three children, Regina Blais of North Smithfield, R.I., Donna Silkie of North Attleboro and James Silkie of Baldwin, N.Y.; four grandsons, Adam R. Blais, Keith E. Silkie, Jared J. Silkie and Erik S. Oliver; also many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mary Ahern, Ann Ryan, Helen Graebner, James Lee and Joseph Lee.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, from 4-7 p.m. in the Evangelical Covenant Church, 841 N. Main St., Attleboro, MA. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the Evangelical Covenant Church. Burial will take place privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
