Kenneth W. Hogan - Cumberland

Kenneth W. Hogan, 70, of Hayfield Lane, passed away Saturday, Dec. 27 at the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the beloved husband of Sabina (Forina) Hogan.

Born in Brighton, Mass., he was the son of the late M. William and Anna (White) Hogan. He resided in Cumberland for the past 37 years.

Mr. Hogan was a financial consultant for the past 10 years with the Resources Global Professionals, Boston, Mass. Previously, he was Chief Financial Officer for the former Providence Gas Co. from 1999 to 2002; he also held the same position with the former Valley Gas Co., Cumberland, from 1976 to 1999.

He was a U.S. Army Infantry captain, a veteran having served two tours of duty in Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart, 4 Bronze Stars and a Silver Star during those tours. He received his Commission as second lieutenant at his graduation from Boston College in 1967. He also received his Masters Degree from Northeastern University, Boston, in 1973.

He was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church and a member of St. Thomas Council Knights of Columbus, both of Cumberland. He was a Knight Grand Cross of the Equestrian Order of The Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, and was also a past State Deputy of the Rhode Island Knights of Columbus.

Besides his wife he leaves three sons, Michael Hogan and his wife Julie of Warwick, and William Hogan and his wife Donna and Christopher Hogan and his wife Ashley, all of Cumberland. He also leaves six grandchildren, Kyle Moitoza, Colin, Makayla, Connor, Benjamin and Aubrey Hogan.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Jan. 3 at 9 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rte. 122, Cumberland, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Burial with military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
