Arthur I. Fletcher – Cumberland

Arthur I. “Artie” Fletcher, 56, of Cumberland passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, a beloved son of Arthur H. and Marilyn D. (Miller) Fletcher of Lincoln, he had lived in Lincoln for most of his life before moving to Rumford for six years. He has lived in Cumberland for the past 9 months.

Artie worked for the Rhode Island “911” System for six years before working more recently as a clerk at the Rhode Island Turnpike & Bridge Authority. He was a graduate of Bryant University and a member of the Bryant Alumni Association.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his loving children, Zachary T. Fletcher and his wife, Erika; USAF SSGT. Tyler B. Fletcher; and Molly E. Fletcher, all of Lincoln; and his beloved brothers, Robert A. Fletcher and his wife, Beth; and Douglas A. Fletcher and his wife, Kathy, all of Lincoln. He is also survived by his former wife, Lori Ann Fletcher of Lincoln, and his companion, Hope Schachter of Rumford.

His Requiem Eucharist will be held Thursday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m., in Christ Church, 1643 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. His burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, Wednesday 4-7 p.m.
