Raymond Vadenais - Cumberland

Raymond Vadenais, 84, of Cumberland, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, September 24, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Jackson) Vadenais. Born in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Victorin and Florette (Ayotte) Vadenais.

Raymond owned and operated Vadenais Dairy Farm for his whole life until 1986, when a fire destroyed the business. Vadenais Farm was recognized for being the first farm in New England for having a refrigerated bulk milk tank. He later operated a landscaping and excavation business. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael Vadenais, Dennis Vadenais, Linda Marquis, Carol Vadenais, and Stephen Vadenais; his sisters, Claire Gravel and Yvette Vadenais; 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Violet Salvas, Leo, Phillip, Robert, and Henry Vadenais.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, Sept. 29, at 11a.m. in Saint John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road Cumberland. www.oneillfuneralhomes.com
