Indian Rock Nature Trail ribbon-cutting ceremony set for Sept. 30

WOONSOCKET – A ribbon-cutting ceremony for Edward Tupper’s Eagle Scout project, Indian Rock Nature Trail, will be held at Leo A. Savoie Elementary School, 990 Mendon Road, on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 4:30 p.m.

Tupper is a member of Troop 2 Woonsocket and has received his Eagle rank after leading a crew of more than 60 volunteers as well worked a cumulative 560 man hours since April to complete the project of restoring and revitalizing the Indian Rock Nature Trail behind the Leo A. Savoie School.

Tupper’s biggest goal was to “make the trail handicap accessible so that all abilities could enjoy nature.” The trail includes a new ramp installed on the second platform that allows wheelchairs, individuals with walkers, and even moms with strollers to enjoy the view.
