Pawtucket runners win age divisions at Crate Escape 5K

PAWTUCKET – Warwick’s Nick Fox was a runaway winner at Sunday morning’s 3rd annual Crate Escape 5K at Slater Park, as he topped a field of 151 participants in a time of 19:01 that was more than a minute and a half faster than the runner-up finisher.

Placing second was the women’s winner, East Greenwich’s Tracey Foster, who crossed the finish line in 20:27. The next two finishers were East Greenwich’s David Schaad (20:55) and Cumberland’s David Benoit (21:05), who also finished fourth in last year’s race.

Among the top Pawtucket runners were Robert Pickett, who placed ninth and was the men’s 40-49 age division winner in 22:09; Gregory Butler, who took 18th place and was the men’s 60-69 champion in 25:30; and Micaela Butlin, who finished 20th, was the fifth female finisher, and won the women’s 20-29 title in 26:03.

The proceeds from the race went toward the Save One Soul Animal Rescue League.
