Rene J. Gagne – Lincoln

Rene J. Gagne, 76, passed away on Saturday surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Yablonsky) Gagne. They were married for the past 26 years.

Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ida (Benoit) Gagne. Rene resided in Lincoln for the past 30 years.

Rene was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Joyce, and their grandchildren to Disney and Hilton Head, S.C. He also enjoyed spending his spare time trail riding on his Morgan horse, Jake.

He was a salesman for Quality Beef in Providence for 13 years until his retirement in 2003. Previously he worked at Tarpy's Beef of Pawtucket for 26 years.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his five children, Rene Gagne and his wife, Sarah, of North Attleboro, Mass.; Robert Gagne of N.Y.; Ronald Gagne of Pawtucket; Susan Gagne-Rego and her husband, Nelson, of Attleboro, Mass.; and Sherrie Barbosa and her husband, Frank, of Seekonk, Mass. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, Camryn Gagne, Madison Gagne, Hunter Gagne, Mathew Gagne, Hannah Lambert, Paige Lambert, Victoria Rego, Amanda Rego, Laurel Barbosa, and Quinn Lambert, along with several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Christopher Gagne and the brother of the late Gerard Gagne and Irene Gagne.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Rene's Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m., and continuing on Wednesday at 9 a.m., in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., in St. Jude Church, 301 Front St., Lincoln. Burial will be private and take place at the convenience of the family.
