Roger M. Lambert - Manville

Roger M. Lambert, 71, of Manville, passed away at the Miriam Hospital in Providence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Gilbert) Lambert and they had been married for the past 42 years.

Born in Manville, he was the son of the late Alfred and Malvina (Poisson) Lambert. He was a lifelong resident of Manville.

He was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War and served two years in the Army Signal Corps, stationed in Qui Nhon, South Vietnam, during the 1968 offensive.

Most recently he was employed by Stylecraft Inc. in Cranston for the past 19 years. He was previously employed by the LG Balfour Company in various capacities for 34 years.

Mr. Lambert was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church, a member of the American Legion, Post 009, Manville.

Roger loved spending time with his family, and also enjoyed reading and sitting by the window watching the birds outside.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughter, Janet Lamountain of Manville; his three grandchildren, Brittany Lamountain, William John Lamountain III and Hailey Lamountain; his nephews Douglas Lambert and John Lambert Jr., both of Warwick. He was the father of the late Nicholas Lambert and brother of the late Andre Lambert and John Lambert.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Roger's Life Celebration to be held Friday, July 12, with visiting hours from 5 to 8 p.m., and continue on Saturday, July 13, at 8 a.m., in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 9 a.m. in the St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery with Military Honors.
