Lois H. Gravel – Cumberland

Lois H. (Mongeau) Gravel, 87, of Cumberland passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Mt. St Rita Health Centre, Cumberland. She was the wife of Gerard B. Gravel.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Hazel Whitman Mongeau. She resided in Cumberland for over 60 years.

Mrs. Gravel was employed by the Cumberland School Department as a teachers aide and bus monitor for many years until her retirement in 1996.

She was a communicant of the Historic St. Joseph Church, Cumberland, where she was a CCD teacher for 11 years. She took great enjoyment spending time with her lifelong friend Connie Littleton with whom she now joins amongst the angels in heaven. In her younger years, she and her husband would join Fran and Ester Paquin square dancing every Saturday night. She also enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Royal Travelers. Lois was also a dedicated and passionate Tom Brady and New England Patriots fan.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her sons, Cris Gravel of Foster, and Mark Gravel and his wife, Susan, of Johnston; her daughter, Lisa Waterman, and her husband, Jonathan, of Cumberland; her brother, Albert Mongeau, of Cumberland; her five grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Lois's Life Celebration to be held with a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 27, 2019, at 11 a.m., in the Historic St. Joseph Church, Cumberland. Burial will be private. At Lois's request, visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
