Upcoming events announced at Union Free Library

NORTH PROVIDENCE – The Mayor Salvatore Mancini Union Free Public Library and Cultural Center, 1810 Mineral Spring Ave., announces its upcoming programs.

• At the Table with Gina Marie is a cookbook club that explores different recipes. This month’s topic will be healthy snacks. Bring in your favorite recipe or snack to share. All are welcome on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m.

• Starting on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and going through Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m., is Book Bonanza. Part story time, part fun and games, part crafts, this program will combine read-aloud stories with matching activities. All ages welcome. Registration required.

• LEGO Builders: For ages 5 and up. Participants read a book together and then build on a theme. The library will provide the Legos. Drop in for weekly building challenges on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.

• Work on making 3D objects with 3D pens. Grades 6-8 meet on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 4 p.m., grades 9 and up, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m. Registration is required. Call the Children’s Department at 401-353-5600, ext. 5.

• Saturday Surprise is on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m. This drop-in program will be different every week but will always include at least one read-aloud story. Geared toward preschoolers, siblings are welcome.

• Storybook Theater: Bring stories to life by acting them out on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 4:15 p.m. Kids do not have to know how to read to participate. Registration required; contact the Children’s Department.

• The North Providence Library is looking for unique and fun vendors for a Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. Cost is $25 per space. Contact the library for more information at 401-353-5600, ext. 816.
