Annual Pumpkin Patch will be held Oct. 19 at Rivers Edge

WOONSOCKET – The Rivers Edge Recreation Complex on Davison Avenue will serve as the new site for the city of Woonsocket’s 7th annual Pumpkin Patch event for Woonsocket residents scheduled on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. A rain date of the following day, at the same time, has been assigned.

Rivers Edge offers 238 parking spaces to accommodate the approximately four to five hundred Woonsocket children and their family members who traditionally attend the Pumpkin Patch. Organized for Woonsocket residents, the city’s Parks and Recreation Division sponsors the free-admission event that integrates fun with a classic fall icon.

During the event, the city will distribute free locally grown pumpkins to Woonsocket children ages toddler through 12 to decorate with free supplies at on-site decorating stations. Parents of infants and babies may purchase a pumpkin on their child’s behalf for $5, if any remain available. Additionally, the event will feature free children’s activities such as a bounce house, petting zoo and face painting.

Event attendees are encouraged to bring a canned good or non-perishable food item for the city to donate to a local charity.
