Richard W. Emery – Cumberland

Richard W. Emery, 81, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2019, surrounded by his wife and children.

He was the beloved husband of Florence (Roy) Emery and they were happily married for 63 years. Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late William and Jeanne (Leblanc) Emery.

Richard was an entrepreneur and owner of many successful companies including Emery’s Vending, Unique Towel Service, Emery’s Catering and LeFoyer in Pawtucket. He was a member of the Cumberland Town Council for many years, the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Lodge, and LeFoyer Men’s Club.

Richard enjoyed woodworking and made items large and small for family members and friends.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Donna (Neil) Rowey, Richard (Lisa) Emery Jr., Robert Emery, and David (Ann) Emery; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jeannette Robitaille and Theresa Goyette; and one brother, Leo Emery. He was the brother of the late Henri Emery.

His funeral will be held Thursday, Nov. 7 at 9 a.m., in the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in Saint John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m., in the funeral home.
