Darren Robinson – Woonsocket

Darren Robinson, 48, of Privilege St., Woonsocket, died unexpectedly on Oct. 29 at home. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Willie and Sarah Helen (Shelton) Robinson.

Darren was the coordinator for North End 49ers Football League and took part in the Providence Football Organization. He was also involved with the Boys & Girls Club of Woonsocket. Darren loved to play, coach, and watch all types of sports.

He is survived by his son, Randell X. Robinson, of Woonsocket; three brothers, Donald Robinson of Providence, and Willie Robinson Jr. and Steven Robinson both of Woonsocket; four sisters, Brenda Burke, Nancy Robinson, Martha Robinson, and Shirley Robinson, all of Woonsocket; and Willie Bea Dandy of Las Vegas. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews and one granddaughter, Kaylani Ruth Robinson. He is also survived by his companion of 29 years, Jesenia Alvarado, of Woonsocket.

He was also the brother of the late, Georgia and Darlene Robinson.

A Funeral Home Service will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m., in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Road, Woonsocket RI 02895. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are from 4 to 6 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will be private.
