Tour Hearthside and Moffett Mill on Sunday

LINCOLN – Bring the family to experience a step back in history on Sunday, Nov. 10. Museum tours of the 1810 Hearthside House on Great Road, 677 Great Road, will take place at 1, 2 and 3 p.m.

Guests will learn the history of Great Road, Hearthside House (c. 1810), and about the families who lived there throughout its history from docents dressed in period attire. The fully-guided tour includes three floors of the fully-furnished house. In observance of Veterans Day, veterans and current military will receive free admission to the museum with military ID.

Admission is $10 for adults; $5 for ages 10-17; free for Hearthside members, veterans and military with valid ID, and children 9 and under.

This will also be the last chance this season to visit the Moffett Mill (c. 1812). The mill, a rare relic from the early Industrial Age which appears to be “frozen in time,” sits along Great Road and the Moshassuck River at the edge of Chase Farm Park. It is only accessible by shuttle van, which leaves continuously from Hearthside between 1 and 3:30 p.m. Admission is included in the fee for the Hearthside Museum tour, or for a $5 fee if only the Mill is visited.

Proceeds from tours and programs support the continued operation and preservation of these historic sites. Hearthside is located at 677 Great Road in Lincoln. For more information, contact info@hearthsidehouse.org, 401-726-0597, or www.hearthsidehouse.org.
