Union Free Public Library announces upcoming events

NORTH PROVIDENCE – The Mayor Salvatore Mancini Union Free Public Library and Cultural Center, 1810 Mineral Spring Ave., has announced its upcoming programs including a Health Savings Account Seminar tonight, Nov. 6, at 6:30 p.m.

Eric Thompson of Coastal Financial will give an informational seminar, followed by a Q&A period. Call 401-353-5600, ext. 2, to register.

The other programs include:

• Book Bonanza: art story time, part fun and games, part crafts, this program will combine read-aloud stories with matching activities. All ages are welcome. Meets on Wednesdays, Nov. 6 and Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required.

• Music with Mr. Rowland: Drop in for this family singalong with Mr. Rowland. He plays the guitar and sings kids’ favorite songs on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 10:30 a.m.

• 3D Pens: Work on making 3D objects with 3D pens on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 4 p.m. This program is for grades 6 -8. Registration is required.

• Saturday Surprise: This drop-in program will be different every week but will always include at least one read-aloud story and will always be fun. Geared toward preschoolers and siblings are welcome on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m.

• Storybook Theatre: Bring stories to life by acting them out on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 4:15 p.m. Children do not need to be readers to enjoy this program for grades K-3. Registration is required.

• Book Club: For grades 3-5, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 6:30 p.m. This month’s read is “Roller Girl” by Victoria Jamieson; copies are available at the Circulation Department. Talk about the book and enjoy a snack.

• The North Providence Library will hold a Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Space for vendors is $25. For more information or an application, call 401-353-5600, ext. 816.
