Beacon Pole Hill Chapter to host talk on DAR Schools Nov. 23

CUMBERLAND – The Beacon Pole Hill Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host a special presentation on NSDAR Schools at their next meeting, Saturday, Nov. 23, at 10 a.m., at the Arnolds Mills Community House, 75 Hillside Road.

Honorary State Regent C. Elizabeth Candas will present “NSDAR Schools Tour, A Personal Journey.” The promotion of education is one of the three founding objectives of the nonprofit, nonpolitical service organization. NSDAR now supports six schools that focus on disadvantaged youth, including the Hillside School in Marlborough, Mass.

Beacon Pole Hill Chapter members are participating in the Woonsocket Adopt-A-Family program and are collecting donations to purchase toys and clothing. Two members will also be playing the dulcimer at the Daggett House at Slater Park during the Winter Wonderland weekends, Dec. 7-8 and 14-15.
