Lead the Way Field Hockey plans youth program in northern R.I.

NORTH SMITHFIELD – Lead the Way Field Hockey, which for the past two decades, has offered an established program that has developed hundreds of field hockey players from all over the state, is holding an eight-week winter program for local players in grades 4-8 at the Wide World of Indoor Sports complex on 621 Pound Hill Road in North Smithfield.

Lead the Way Field Hockey, which has a strong presence in the South County, is looking to branch out into northern Rhode Island to develop feeder programs and enhance the current programs in the area. The founder and current head of the program is former Lincoln High and University of New Hampshire player and University of Rhode Island head coach Rebecca Campbell.

The winter program will run from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on the following Wednesdays: Nov. 20; Dec. 4, 11, and 18; and Jan. 8, 15, 22, and 29. All players will be grouped by experience and skill, and the sessions will cater to all levels, from the beginner to the more competitive and skilled player.

The fee for the eight weeks is $295 per player, and players can visit www.leadthewayfieldhockey.com to sign up or for more information.
