Corruption is everywhere in R.I. - and noticed in far-away places

While visiting my son in Arizona, the Arizona Republic newspaper printed a front page story with the headline, “State pays fortune for private storage.” A major point of contention between the former and present Secretary of State is a deal for many years under a contract awarded without competition.

I read about loopholes in purchasing requirements and hearing the same language that little Rhody hears much too frequently from our so-called leaders in government. The article basically quoted the deal would prove to be a win-win and that ensures better service, etc., etc.

Yes, it happens in other places, but it certainly is not refreshing to know that. It just serves as a reminder that the elected officials must have an expiration date for holding office.

Be an informed voter.
