Tolman takes on Shea, SRA duels Moses Brown on Thanksgiving Eve

PAWTUCKET – Four days after suffering a 22-14 loss to Pilgrim in the Division III Super Bowl, the Tolman High football team will try to end its successful season on a winning note and even its Thanksgiving Day series with crosstown rival Shea High on Wednesday night at Max Read Field.

Kickoff is 6 p.m.

The Tigers, who are 8-3, have lost four of their last five holiday meetings with the Raiders, who are 6-4. Shea, which leads the holiday series, 9-8, had suffered a 19-0 defeat to Central in their Division I quarterfinal-round meeting on Nov. 8 at Max Read Field.

The Tolman-Shea showdown is one of six holiday games taking place on Wednesday, with another one featuring St. Raphael Academy and Moses Brown at 6 p.m. at Bryant University.

The Saints will take a 4-5 mark into their clash with the Quakers, who had lost their first seven games before defeating Cranston East, 19-10, in their non-league game on Nov. 15.

Moses Brown leads the holiday series, 4-3, thanks to the Quakers’ close 39-36 victory in 2017 and 28-20 win in last year’s game.
