Jutras receives RIC women’s volleyball team’s MVP award

Former Ponaganset High Second-Team All-Stater Jackie Jutras, shown getting ready to serve the ball, was recently named the Rhode Island College women’s volleyball team’s Most Valuable Player. Jutras graduates with 1,682 assists, the sixth-most in the program’s history, and 651 digs.

PROVIDENCE – Foster’s Jacqueline Jutras recently concluded her excellent collegiate career in style by being named the Most Valuable Player of the Rhode Island College women’s volleyball team at the school’s annual fall sports banquet at the Quonset “O” Club.

Jutras, who was the Anchorwomen’s setter, played in 93 sets in 25 matches and ended the year with a team-leading 618 assists, as well as 186 digs, 58 kills, 49 service aces, and 19 blocks.

A four-year player for the Anchorwomen, Jutras graduates with 1,682 assists, the sixth-most in the program’s history, and 651 digs. She also received Second-Team All-Little East Conference honors last season.

Jutras graduated from Ponaganset High in 2016 after a marvelous high school career that saw her earn First-Team All-State honors as a senior with the Chieftains.
