Pawtucket police investigate shooting on Weeden Street

PAWTUCKET – Police are investigating a double shooting on Weeden Street, but say the two victims have been uncooperative as they've interviewed them.

On Feb. 5, at around 12:41 a.m., police responded to the area of 390 Weeden St. for a report of a man with a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, a 31-year-old man was found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and left arm. The victim was conscious and alert and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he is expected to recover.

As detectives began to further investigate, it was learned that another male victim arrived at Miriam Hospital with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. The victim, a 23-year-old man, was then transferred to Rhode Island Hospital. Detectives met with both victims, who were uncooperative.

It is unknown at this time if the 23-year-old victim is related to the shooting in Pawtucket or reports of shots fired outside Miriam Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. David Silva at 401-727-9100, ext. 760.
