Lillian K. Poulin – Lincoln

Lillian K. (Vachon) Poulin, 84, of Albion, died Thursday, February 6, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Armand A. Poulin.

Born in New Bedford, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Blanche (Huguenin) Vachon, she had lived in Lincoln for over 50 years.

Mrs. Poulin worked for Swank Inc., Attleboro, Mass.; American Tourister, Albion, and Senior Services Inc., Woonsocket, where she was awarded the company’s “Woman of the Year” Award for helping people learn to read. She was also a bus monitor for many years in the town of Lincoln before retiring.

An avid gardener, she was a longtime member of the Lincoln Garden Club, was a Campfire Girl leader in the early 1970s, and was a lifelong member of the Birdwatching & Photography Citizens Branch of Cornell University. She loved to craft, crochet and knit for church bazaars and gifts. She enjoyed traveling, and with her family she traveled through the United States, visiting many national parks and monuments. After her retirement, she traveled across the Provinces of Canada, visiting relatives along the way. She was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church, Albion.

She is survived by one daughter, Suzanne M. Smith, and her husband, Gregory, of Lincoln; one son, Raymond G. Poulin, and his wife, Christine, of Lincoln; two sisters, Jean Murray of New Bedford, and Cynthia Diffin of Derry, N.H.; one brother, Larry Hegele, and his wife, Rose, of Wilmington, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Therese Gosselin of Fla., and Lucille McDonald, and her husband, James, of North Smithfield; three grandchildren, Dianna Poulin, Gregory Smith, and Jameson Smith; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth Pelkey and Rudolph Vachon.

Her funeral was held February 10, at 9 a.m. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Ambrose Church, 191 School St., Albion. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
