Smithfield L.L. offers online registrations for upcoming season

SMITHFIELD – Registrations for the Smithfield Little League’s upcoming spring season are currently open to all Smithfield children ages 5-16.

Participants are encouraged to register online at before March 10. All players who register are assigned to a team, regardless of their playing ability.

Those who register prior to the deadline are invited to participate in the league’s Thursday night winter baseball clinics at no charge.

The league will also again offer the Challenger Division, which enables boys and girls with physical and mental challenges who are ages 4-18 (or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high school) the opportunity to play baseball.

Individuals who do not live in Smithfield are welcome to register for the league’s team if their town’s Little League does not offer a Challenger Division.

There is no registration fee for this division, and signups can also be done on the league’s website.

The league is also seeking volunteers and coaches. Interested individuals should send an email to and register online. To ensure the safety of all players, all volunteers must successfully pass a criminal background check.
