Scituate’s Bouyssou receives award from Positive Coaching Alliance

SCITUATE – Scituate resident Serge Bouyssou, who coaches judo and wrestling at the Mayo Quanchi Judo & Wrestling studio in Coventry, has been named a Regional Double-Goal Coach Award winner by Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), a national nonprofit “committed to the development of better athletes and better people through sports done right.”

Bouyssou, who is also an assistant coach on the first-year Scituate High wrestling team, was one of 100 Regional Double-Goal Coach Award winners.

“Serge Bouyssou was selected as one of just 100 coaches across the country for this prestigious recognition because he has devoted himself to his athletes on and off the mat, and his mission is to make the world a better place,” Beth O’Neill Maloney, the executive director of PCA’s New England chapter, reported in a press release.

Maloney said she was impressed with the thoughtful references that were submitted by athletes, parents, and fellow coaches, “sharing their appreciation for all that the man they call Sensei Serge has done to help them thrive and inspire them to become better people.”
