Ivar A. Elfgren – Glocester

Ivar A. Elfgren, 87, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Hopkins) Elfgren for 61 years.

Mr. Elfgren was born in East Killingly, Conn., the son of the late Arthur E. and Helen P. (Carroll) Elfgren.

He was a plant manager for the former Worcester Textile Company for many years before retiring. He lived in Foster before moving to Belleview, Fla., in 1993, and returned to Chepachet in 2015. Mr. Elfgren served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He was a former member of the Civil Defense in Foster and Glocester during the 1960s and 70s. He was a ham radio operator with a call sign of “ K1RSS.” While living in Florida, he was a member of the Marion County Sheriff’s Association and a member of the Ocala Theater Company.

In addition to his wife Marilyn, he is also survived by his sister, Louanna Banks, of E. Killingly, Conn., and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral and burial will be private.
