Boys & Girls Club closes Camp Ramsbottom for 2020 summer season

PAWTUCKET – The Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket has announced the closure of Camp Ramsbottom, in Rehoboth, Mass., for the 2020 summer season.

Each year, Camp Ramsbottom provides programming to nearly 1,000 youth, ages 6-13. The camp program offers a wide variety of activities from recreation and sports to arts and crafts.

“After exploring many options of how we could provide a quality, safe, and fun camp experience, we had to make the difficult decision to not hold camp this year,” said Jim Hoyt, chief executive officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket. “We look forward to camp as much as our campers, staff and volunteers, but our priority is protecting the safety, well-being, and health of everyone in our club family.”

The decision to close camp for the 2020 season came after monitoring regulations put out by the Massachusetts Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “While there were many guidelines and parameters the club was able to accommodate, there were too many unknown variables and risks to properly plan a quality program with the restrictions that would have been required,” stated Hoyt.

Those who have already registered for Camp Ramsbottom will receive a full refund, including deposits. For questions, email , or call 401-722-8840, option 3.
