Library offering curbside pickup

NORTH PROVIDENCE – The North Providence Library is offering curbside pickup now through when the facility eventually reopens.

Any patron may fill out the form on the library website, nplib.com, Facebook page or call the Reference Department to request up to six items per week including books, DVDs, audiobooks, and magazines. A library card is required, as books will be checked out to the card number provided. If you do not have a library card, you may apply for one online at www.oslri.org/application/ .

Once the materials request form is received, staff will gather requested items and call the patron to come and pick them up.

“We are working with limited staff and hours, so please be patient as we fill requests,” said the library in a release. “The book drop is now open, so you may return materials there.”

The physical building is still closed, so items will not accrue fines and will not technically be due until the library reopens. Call 401-353-5600 with any questions.

While public library buildings are closed, patrons can take advantage of Rhode Island’s public libraries continued digital service to communities. Libraries have access to digital books, magazines and newspapers and a wealth of online learning tools.

More free online resources are available at www.nplib.com . Visit the site for current updates.

Library due dates for all library items will be extended through the end of the library closure. For now that date is July 1.

Do not leave book donations at the library.

Follow the library and its children’s department on Facebook to find fun activities and updates.

“The North Providence Library staff wishes all of our patrons to stay safe, be strong and to read often,” said staff
