Why are vehicles registered in Massachusetts?

I have lived in Rhode Island all my life and paid my taxes.

Why are people living in R.I. and keeping their vehicles registered in Massachusetts? I can’t get an answer. I went to the City Hall and made a written complaint. I called the State Police, they told me to call local police. I did. I went to the police station; they told me they can’t do anything unless they (the vehicle owner) are stopped for a violation. Then I spoke to the mayor of Cumberland and he said he would look into the matter. In all of this effort – nothing.

The law states you are supposed to change your vehicle registration in 30 days. 1) They have no-fault insurance; 2) They use a relative’s address in Mass.; 3) They are getting away with it; 4) We in R.I. are losing revenue.
