Kevin M. Day – Cumberland

Kevin M. Day, 70, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, after an unexpected illness.

He was the husband of Christine M. (Ray) Day, and they had been happily married for the past 47 years.

Born in Fairfax County, Va., he was the son of the late Sgt. Major George E. and Frances P. (Duffin) Day. He resided in Cumberland for most of his life, previously residing in Lincoln.

Mr. Day entered the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Following his service to our country he was honorably discharged.

He was employed as mechanic for Keolis Commuter Services Inc., and was previously employed at General Dynamics Inc.

Kevin was a loyal and passionate Boston Bruins fan, who enjoyed fishing, yard sales, playing the guitar, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. Those who love him will always remember his sense of humor, his love for his granddaughters, as well his ability to tell a bad joke.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his three children, Michael Day and his wife, Melissa, Marc Day and his wife, Jill, and John Day, all of Cumberland; his two grandchildren Kaiya Day and Aliyah Day; his sister, Ann Adams and her husband, John, of Delray Beach, Fla.; his mother-in-law, Rose Ray; his sister-in-law, Denise Ray; his nephew Keith Ray and his wife, Kaela; his two nieces, Cheryl Surtel and Kathryn Adams.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Kevin's Life Celebration to be held Sunday, October 11, 2020, with visiting hours from 1 to 4 p.m., in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Route 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Military honors will follow at the funeral home.

The family would be honored for friends and family who cannot attend to view a live stream of services on Sunday at 4 p.m. on Kevin's online memorial at .
