Jason Samuel Kornberg – Coventry

Jason Samuel Kornberg, 52, of Coventry, R.I., passed away on October 6, 2020.

He was the dedicated and loving husband of Tracy Elizabeth Young. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of Frederick Kornberg and Jack and Donna (Simpkins) Charney.

Jason faithfully served the citizens of Cranston through his dedicated service as a firefighter and first responder on the Cranston Fire Department and was a member of IAFF, Local 1363. He was a kind, loving, gentle soul and always put others before himself. Jason helped the people he cared for with all his heart. Prior to joining the Cranston Fire Department, he served as an emergency medical technician and was a pharmaceutical sales representative at Novartis Pharmaceuticals.

He graduated from Cumberland High School in 1986 and from the University of Rhode Island with a BA in English. Jason was an avid runner for most of his life, completing numerous marathons. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing and hiking with his two dogs Finbarr and Piper, who he absolutely adored.

Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by his beloved children, Caroline Kornberg, and Ian Kornberg, and his brother, Eric Kornberg.

A private service will be livestreamed, Wednesday, October 14, at 11 a.m., on the O’Neill Funeral Home website. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
