Barr promises to lead, not follow

LINCOLN – Democratic candidate for Senate District 17, John Barr II, promises to work aggressively to protect the people.

“IGT has lobbied the legislature to get a 20-year, no-bid contract to provide video lottery terminals at Twin River Casino. If it was put out to bid, it is estimated that the state would have made $500 million to $600 million more. My previous legislation brings Lincoln one percent of the profits from these machines. This loss of revenue will cost Lincoln $5-6 million.”

Barr said his opponent “has been silent on this issue. If I were serving, I would have been negotiating to get a higher percentage for Lincoln. District 17 needs a senator who will lead, not follow.”
