Hogan: We need someone not in lockstep

CUMBERLAND – House District 52 candidate Chris Hogan says the "stranglehold" Democrats have over the direction of the state is undeniable.

"Any state dominated by one overarching view of the role of government, whether the Democratic party in Rhode Island or the GOP in Wyoming, does not serve well its constituency as a whole," said the Republican. "Why? Because there's very little new thinking or innovative solutions for how to deal with the challenges affecting all residents, not just those of a certain party."

The COVID-19 pandemic "has taken a gruesome toll on the country and state," he said, but Democratic leaders had little to offer besides "appealing to the federal government with their hands open" for a bailout.

"If Democrat state Rep. Alex Marszalkowski thinks that’s leadership, and his 93.4 percent lockstep voting record proves he does, then we need a change," he said.
