Archambault outlines priorities

SMITHFIELD – Incumbent District 22 Sen. Steve Archambault is outlining his top priorities for the next legislative session.

“I will continue to put my experience to work to bring back jobs, hold the line on taxes, and provide a helping hand to people and families hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic impacts,” he said.

More specifically, he vowed to help the small businesses and local farmers that create about six out of 10 new jobs, push for supplemental unemployment benefits for families in need, actively back the continued phaseout of the car tax, advocate for quality health care for all and to curb the opioid epidemic, and fight to upgrade and expand job retraining programs.

Archambault serves as vice chairman of the Senate Committee of Judiciary and is a member of the Environment & Agriculture and Rules, Government Ethics & Oversight Committees.

District 22 covers Smithfield, North Providence and Johnston.
