Steere notes experience to help in challenging financial times

GLOCESTER – Experience in successfully handling challenging situations will be sorely needed over the next two years, said Walter Steere, Republican candidate for Glocester Town Council.

“We will be faced with the daunting fiscal effects of the COVID-19 crisis,” he said. “When I was first elected to the Glocester Town Council in 2008, we were in the midst of a deep recession. My first year saw the state take away over $1 million in aid to our town. I was part of a council that worked diligently to minimize the impact of these cuts on the taxpayer while still maintaining the same level of services to our residents.”

He added: “I would be honored to serve you again and work together to get us through this challenging time.”
