Osier promotes qualifications, experience

NORTH SMITHFIELD – Councilor Douglas Osier says he has the education and experience to provide solutions that strike a balance and “offer principled leadership alongside an exceptional public service record.”

Osier served as co-chairman on the Budget Committee prior to the council. He holds degrees in finance and economics from Stonehill College and a master’s in business administration in leadership. He’s a manager of business intelligence.

Osier said he was the only councilor who voted against the final development agreement for Green Development’s project on Iron Mine Hill Road.

“Renewables offer needed energy sources, but not at the expense of our rural landscape, property values or resident’s quality of life.”

With an open door policy, Osier said he remains fiscally responsible while supporting schools, improving infrastructure and acquiring open space.

“We must utilize a collaborative, strategic, data-driven approach,” he said. He pledged to listen to all sides, remain objective and advocate for residents.
