Lawrence W. Morrissey – Cumberland

Lawrence W. Morrissey, 85, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 13, 2020, with his wife by his side.

He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Williamson) Morrissey. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Leo and Rose (Muldoon) Morrissey.

He graduated from Saint Raphael Academy and was a marine veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Unisys as a systems analyst.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael Morrissey, Karen Ferrara and her husband, Bob, Kevin Morrissey, Beth Lewis and her husband, Jay, and his sister, Margaret Morrison. He also leaves his grandchildren, Sean Morrissey and his wife, Shay, Kyle Morrissey, Maximilian Ferrara, and Elizabeth Ferrara.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m., in St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Visiting hours are Friday, Oct. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the O’Neill Funeral Home, 3102 Mendon Road, Cumberland. The burial with military honors will be private. Due to the current restrictions, social distancing and masks will be required.
