Before the pandemic began, state Sen. Thomas Paolino said that District 17 was on the move.

“This was not by accident. In the state Senate, we cut the minimum corporate tax rate to the lowest in New England, lowered utility costs for businesses by eliminating taxes and fees, and cut the car tax,” he said.

“Spurred on by the business community, we also made historic investments in infrastructure and education, including the construction of new schools in Lincoln and North Providence. These improvements to the fundamentals of our business climate incentivized growth,” Paolino said.

“Unemployment declined, businesses invested here, and, once again, families were making great progress in our district. If re-elected to the state Senate, I will ensure we make the investments needed today to rebuild stronger after the pandemic while fostering a pro-growth tax climate that ensures opportunity to all,” he concluded.
