Lincoln’s new ornaments selling fast

LINCOLN – The town’s 150-year anniversary edition ornaments are selling “like hotcakes,” says Richard DiMase, with 41 of 265 of them sold within the first two hours of them becoming available late last week.

DiMase said there was a waiting list at Town Hall, which is one of three locations where the ornaments depicting a map of Lincoln are being sold at $20 apiece. Other locations are Ted’s Paint & Decorating at 194 Front St. and Hunter Insurance at 389 Old River Road in Manville.

DiMase said he received a call from Lincoln-based Chemart that the company won’t be able to fill any new orders of the ornament until after the first of the year, meaning once these are gone, they’re gone. He said there’s a chance the committee could order more at that point, but all the rest would have to be sold out and he’d have to be sure they weren’t going to get stuck with the inventory.

“I would hope we would be able to do that,” he said. “There aren’t going to be more unless we sell out.”
