Louise Helen Shea – Cumberland

Louise Helen Shea, 77, of Cumberland, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020.

She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Shea Sr. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Helen (Hazam) Hatch.

Louise attended West (Shea) High School in Pawtucket, Bryant University and Rhode Island College. She worked for the Pawtucket School Department for 35 years as a secretary. Outside of work, Louise was an active member of the community, serving as president of the Shea High Booster Club, an organizer for the Woodlawn Cowboy’s Football and Neighborhood Association and as a social chair for the Woodlawn Community Development Corporation. She was also a frequent political and community advocate, notably campaigning for the creation of the Aaron Hotchkiss Memorial Playground at Baldwin School in Pawtucket.

In retirement, she also served as an activity’s director for the Maple Woods Farm community in Cumberland. A devoted Christian, Louise was a member of Cumberland’s St. Aidan’s Parish.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter Kelly-Ann Davis and her husband, Tom, as well as her son, Robert E. Shea Jr.,, and her daughter-in-law Dr. Lisa Braff-Shea. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Allison and her husband, Shawn Rivard, Melanie and her husband, Casey Godzyk, Hannah Davis, Ethan Davis, Kiara Davis, Noah Shea, Caleb Shea and Eli Shea, as well as one great-grandchild, Griffin Thomas Godzyk.

The funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Families for Effective Autism Treatment (F.E.A.T).
