Ferri: Chiefs will be missed

I have had the pleasure of serving on the Central Falls City Council, while both Fire Chief Robert Bradley and Police Chief Dan Barzykowski headed their well respected departments. Both chiefs are held in high esteem, not only in Central Falls, but throughout Rhode Island and beyond.

As a member of the City Council and a lifelong resident, I was always at ease knowing that the public safety of the city was in good hands. Both chiefs brought knowledge, experience, leadership and dedication to our city. And, both went beyond their day-to-day duties. Chief Bradley was (aka) as Santa Claus, arriving on a fire truck for Christmas in the park, and sat for hours during the annual “Holiday Express” breakfast, while also playing the bag pipes at all veterans’ events and other somber ceremonies. Speaking of the “Holiday Express,” Chief Barzykowski and his family are the brainstorm and movers behind the tremendous efforts to ensure that Christmas is merry for so many families. In closing, both will be greatly missed.
