Áine Minogue celebrates Valentine’s weekend with BRT

On Saturday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m., Blackstone River Theatre will present a virtual Valentine’s Concert featuring Celtic harpist and singer Áine Minogue.

CUMBERLAND – On Saturday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m., Blackstone River Theatre will present a virtual Valentine’s concert featuring Celtic harpist and singer Áine Minogue.

Minogue has long explored the themes of traditional Irish music and captures its very essence, say organizers. “Her ethereal singing reflects the lyricism and richness to be found in Irish music, mythology and poetry with a voice undeniably her own.”

The show will celebrate love in all its forms – from romantic love to music that reflects love of nature, love of family, and of course, no Irish show would be complete without a song of unrequited love.

The concert will also celebrate Brigid, who is honored during the month of February in Ireland and has become popular around the world in recent years as an expression of the divine feminine. Brigid was a goddess and later recognized as a saint, one of the three patron saints of Ireland.

The 60-minute concert will include selections from Minogue’s album “To Warm the Winter’s Night.” Tickets are $15; an additional $3.81 charge is added on by the streaming platform. Viewers can watch again or later at any time during an included 72-hour rebroadcast. Tickets can be purchased at noonchorus.com/aine-minogue .
