Mr. and Mrs. Brayton celebrate 75 years of marriage

FOSTER – George and Dorothy Brayton were set to celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary on Feb. 19.

Mr. and Mrs. Brayton were married on Feb. 19, 1946, at the North Scituate Baptist Church. The Rev. Otto Churchhill officiated the ceremony. Mrs. Brayton is the former Dorothy Z. Pierce.

The couple are the parents of Rebecca Shippee and husband, Warren; Georgianna Knox and husband, Donald; George Brayton Jr. and wife, Laurie; Richard Brayton and wife, Gladys; and Donna Brayton.

They are the grandparents of Todd Knox, Donald Knox, Scott Knox, Kevin Shippee, Aurthur Shippee, Julie Carnevale, Kimberly Barrette, Robert Edson, James Edson, William Maniatis, Candi Parrillo, Nick Maniatis and Bruce Brinthaupt.

They are the great-grandparents of Austin Shippee, Aaron Shippee, Jesse Knox, Brooke Welch, Brandon Knox, Sam Carnevale, Hannah Carnevale, Parker Barrette, Maya Barrette, Ty Parrillo, Cal Parrillo, Nick Raposa, Corey Edson and Kaitlyn Edson.

They are the great-great-grandparents of Isebel Knox and Aiden Welch.

Mrs. Brayton is a homemaker and enjoys gardening and bird-watching. Mr. Brayton was a P.O.W. in World War II. He was employed in the milk truck business and as a mailman.
