Margaret Farley – Cumberland

Margaret Farley, 97, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021, in the Crystal lake Rehabilitation and Care Center, Pascoag. She was the wife of the late William J. Farley.

Born in Milford, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Dutton) Shaughnessy. She resided in Pawtucket for most of her adult life and spent the remainder between Englewood, Fla., and Cumberland, R.I.

She was an avid reader, knitter and dancer for her entire life. In her younger years she was known to roller skate, but most of all enjoyed being with her beloved family and friends.

Margaret was employed as a supervisor by the State of R.I., Unemployment Office, Pawtucket for 35 years until her retirement.

She is survived by her three children: Billy Farley and his wife, Shirley (Gaughan) Farley, of Cape Coral, Fla., Peggy (Farley) Fitzgerald of Franconia, N.H. and Cumberland, R.I., and Kevin Farley and his husband, Frank Briel, of Wakefield, R.I.; her five grandchildren: Kelli Fitzgerald, Jay Fitzgerald and his wife, Christine (Degen), Kacy (Fitzgerald) Maloof and her husband, Jason, Sean Farley and Matthew Farley; 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren, along with many stepnieces and stepnephews. She was also the lifetime friend of Cathy Horoho and her late husband, John. She was also formerly the longtime partner of the late Tom Bousquet.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Margaret's Life Celebration to begin with visiting hours on Saturday, February 27, 2021, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the St. Aidan-St. Patrick Parish, 1460 Diamond Hill Road Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
