Richard L. Manocchia – Ponte Vedra, Fla.

Richard L. Manocchia, 83, of Ponte Vedra, Florida, died peacefully on February 17, 2021.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Lois (Pantalone) Manocchia. He was the father of Susan Sabella (Steven) and Michael Manocchia; loving grandfather to Sarah Buitrago (Walter), Madeleine and Alison Manocchia and great-grandfather to Charlotte and Luke Buitrago. His brother is Robert Manocchia (Ann Marie).

Dick was a graduate of Bryant College with a degree in accounting. He was also a member of the Rhode Island National Guard.

Born and raised in Providence, the son of the late Richard A. Manocchia and Assunta (Goneconte) Manocchia, he was a longtime resident of Smithfield, R.I. Dick, a certified custom kitchen designer, was the owner of Creative Kitchens Inc. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf with family and friends, and he was also a loyal New England sports fan.

During his lifetime, Dick showered his generosity and his time on family, friends and even strangers. Those gifts came back to him during his illness through the care and kindness he received from the doctors and nurses in the Covid Unit at Baptist Hospital South in Jacksonville, Fla., and at Haven House in Orange Park, Fla.. His family will be forever grateful for their care.

A private burial will be followed by a memorial service in June. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to the Gary Sinise Foundation, Emergency COVID-19 Combat Service.
