Henry A. Jalbert – Cumberland

Henry A. Jalbert – Cumberland

Henry A. Jalbert, 79, of Cumberland, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 20, 2021.

He was the beloved husband of Esther (Simonini) Jalbert. They were happily married for 54 years. Born in Woonsocket and a resident of Cumberland for over 30 years, he was the son of the late Henry and Rose (Carbone) Jalbert.

Henry was a manufacturing engineer for the former Cumberland Engineering for more than 40 years before retiring. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Lisa Menard and her husband, Carl, and Lori Aidala and her husband, Richard. He was the brother of Gene Jalbert and his wife, Carol, and Janice Allard and her late husband, Ronald. He also leaves his grandchildren, Brittni Moore and her husband,, Greg, Tyler Menard and his wife Amanda, Dylan, Shane, and Ava Korzeniowski, and Chase and Darian Aidala. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandpups and countless best friends.

Anyone that met Henry instantly fell in love with his contagious smile that could always brighten the room. He lived for spending time with his friends and family, vacationing to Disney, or taking various cruises (despite his motion sickness). He loved watching the Red Sox and Patriots play, and had a passion for all cars, classic or fast. He was everyone’s first call whenever anything needed fixing and was always full of wisdom and advice. There was never a problem, big or small, that he couldn’t take just a few hours to solve. He spent many weekends volunteering at The Genesis Project food pantry in Manville with family, always organizing the bread distribution, and offering a heartfelt greeting to everyone who passed through.

Henry was a person you always wanted to be around and that anyone was blessed to know. There will be an emptiness felt in his absence, but the last thing he ever wanted was for anyone to be sad on his account. He’d always put everyone ahead of himself and would want us to all continue to live and love and cherish all the happy memories.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to a funeral mass Saturday, Feb. 27, at 10 a.m., in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. The Mass will also be video live-streamed on the funeral home website, for anyone who would like to participate without attending the church. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
