Alfred Martins – Cumberland

Alfred Martins, 92, of Cumberland, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 25, 2021.

He was the husband of the late Claire C. (Pinsonneault) Martins. Born in Cumberland, he was a son of the late Jerome and Maria (Sousa) Martins, he had resided in Cumberland all of his life.

Mr. Martins was employed as a maintenance mechanic for The Providence Gravure for many years until his retirement in 1991. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his son Gary Martins, of Lincoln, grandsons Ryan Martins, Brett Martins and fiancé, Meredith Paton; his daughter, Sharon Rollins, of South Attleboro, Mass., his grandson R. Justin Brien, great-grandchildren Katelyn Brien, Kyle Brien, granddaughter, Kelsey Dillon, and her husband, Shane; his son Bruce Martins and his wife, Donna, of Cumberland, his grandchildren Jessica Boisvert and her husband, Ian, great-grandsons Cameron, Aaron and Brayden Boisvert, granddaughter Lyndsey Martins and her fiancé, Gregory Pomfret, great-granddaughter Abygale Pomfret, granddaughter Kayleigh Martins and fiancé, Joey Pinola. He is also survived by his brother Jerome Martin.

He was the brother of the late Tony Martin, Adeline McCaffrey, Edward Martin, Georgianna Lawrence, Able Martin, Neva Martin, Anna Fonte, Manuel Martin, Sarah Stefanik and Irene Martin.

A Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at 11 a.m., in St. Aidan Church, 1460 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Childrens' Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, would be appreciated.
