John J. McDonald – Cumberland

John J. McDonald, 90, of Cumberland, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

He was the beloved husband of Loretta J (O’Connell) McDonald. They were happily married for over 60 years living in Cumberland during their entire marriage.

Born in Scranton, Penn., he was the son of the late John V. and Marie (Dolphin) McDonald.

After graduating from Pawtucket East in 1945, Jack served four years in the U.S. Navy. Jack worked in the automobile sales business his entire life spending time at Dario Ford, Crown Auto, L&M, Scotts Volkswagen and ending his career at Anchor Subaru.

Jack is survived by his children, Brian McDonald, and Patrick McDonald and his wife, Lynn. He also leaves three grandchildren, Allison Fleet and her husband, Zachary, Shaun McDonald and his wife, Kendall, and Anthony McDonald, as well as his great-granddaughter, Charlotte Fleet. Jack is the father of the late Ann Marie McDonald.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, would be appreciated. The Funeral Service will be video live-streamed Friday, March 12, at 11:30 a.m., on Mr. McDonald’s obituary page, on the O’Neill Funeral Home website, www.oneillfuneralhomes.com . The burial in RI Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter, will be private.
