Eleanor ‘Ellie’ E. Fasteson – Foster

Eleanor ‘Ellie’ E (Trier) Fasteson, 82, a longtime resident of Foster, passed away March 4 at home surrounded by family after a long illness.

Born in Providence and raised on Cherry Hill in Johnston with a German upbringing, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Betty Trier.

She attended Mount Pleasant High School and later worked as a ticket agent for American Airlines in Providence and as a bookkeeper for Droll Yankees Birdfeeders in Foster. An avid gardener and traveler, Ellie could often be found in her flower gardens or enjoying county-western music and dancing. She attended St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Providence and was an active member of the Cranston and Knightsville Seniors’ Clubs.

She is survived by her partner, James Butler, of Foster; a daughter, Debra Fasteson Harris, her husband, Charles, and grandchildren Miranda and Andrew Harris of North Carolina.

Visitation will be Monday, March 29, from noon to 2 p.m., in the Winfield & Sons Funeral Home, 571 West Greenville Road, North Scituate, followed by a graveside burial service at 3 p.m., at Phillips Memorial Cemetery, North Road, Foster. Masks must be worn and social distancing will be observed.
