SRA girls’ volleyball team improves to 6-1, tops Westerly, Rogers on road

WESTERLY – The St. Raphael Academy girls’ volleyball team raised its record to 6-1 last Thursday night by coming home from its longest road trip of the Division III season with a 6-1 triumph over Westerly High.

The Saints, who won the match by scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-9, received 11 kills from junior Victoria Adegboyega, eight kills and 14 digs from senior Tatyana Vicente, and 22 assists from senior setter Madison Nault.

Prior to that victory, the Saints pulled out a 3-2 win in Newport over Rogers, as junior Allajah Perryman (10 kills, 9 digs), Adegboyega (18 kills), Nault (31 assists), and Vicente (seven kills, 14 digs) led the way.

The Saints will return home on Friday for a 3 p.m. match against Block Island in a rematch of last season’s D-III championship match in 2019 that SRA won in three sets.
